Hello Everyone,
Just to begin I am new to GTA products and got a GTA 1000 series and trying to log in the deivice via console or web which I coultd not.

The device is working now and we used to log via WEB managment but now we could,t log via web due to some setting error which we may done by trying to set a rule (assuming port forwarding ..we set WAN IP address to LAN IP address but we did't set any port number .....)

I tried to log in to the CONSOLE port using DB9 cable but no joy ...

Can some give us some guide to solve the issue.

The mistake was ...We set a rule

Many thanks .

You have to have console permissions enabled in order to login via console. And always at least one user will have the console access permissions. Did you even get login prompt? If not check your settings for the terminal emulation software.

Is this a GB-1000R or an old GB-1000. Both are End of Life

If GB-1000R you can reset to factory defaults via the console. You do this by hold control r during boot. This is in the console guide some where.

Really old - http://www.gta.com/downloads/external/userGuide/GB_Console_UG.pdf

latest - http://www.gta.com/downloads/external/52/General/Console_Guide_5.2.pdf

Thanks for the quick response,

I think i need to change the Inbound tunnel setting only via console menu .

I assume using the DB9 cable (9 pin male connector both sides) connected to a serial port will enable to log me in to the console.

Back of the firewall there are two serial ports console and serial ,Assume I need to connect to console.

Do i need to re boot the firewall to get connect via console ?

Thanks

No you should not need to reboot. The console port should be marked.

Cable a DB9 to DB9 file transfer cable. Once shipped with firewall is a belkin.

Yea, you get logged in you can disable the tunnel or email your self config to see what it looks like.
